MacArthur Center is one of the best shopping malls in Norfolk, Virginia. Sitting in the heart of the Hampton Roads, the mall opened in March 1999 with a total of 140 unique stores, including Dillard’s Department Store, which is the region’s flagship, plus 70 new-to-market shops. One of the mall’s distinct aspects is that it has numerous retail establishments that can’t be found anywhere else in the city. In addition, it also features an 18-screen theater that encloses a gorgeous 70-foot atrium.

MacArthur Center is described as the only site in Southeastern Virginia where visitors can experience world-class shopping in a superb locale. Just 1.2 miles north of the mall is the Chrysler Museum of Art, which is another interesting site in Norfolk as it boasts a collection of over 30,000 items, and it has a glass studio that is the only one of its kind in Mid-Atlantic region. Other amazing places close to the mall are Neptune's Park and Croatan Beach, which are both in the city of Virginia Beach and are only 3.5 miles apart. The park hosts must-see summer concerts, while the beach offers a peaceful stretch of sand.
