Sinop Airport – NOP Sinop, Turkey
Sinop Airport (NOP) is a civil airport in Sinop, in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Its location is only 8 kilometers from the city center. It previously carried the IATA code SIC but was eventually changed to NOP. Its operator is the General Directorate of State Airports Authority. The airport’s old runway was at one time used by the US military base in Sinop until it was closed in 1992. After a year, Sinop Airport started offering its aviation services to the public. The airport went out of service for a few months in 2013 while it underwent renovations and when it finally reopened, NOP airport was more than equipped to handle as much as 150,000 passengers annually.

Sinop Airport’s new look from its recent improvement phase includes a modern passenger terminal building, new control tower and a wide open space forvehicle parking. It features one concrete runway. Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines have several daily flights to Istanbul and vice versa. The airport provides easy access to those bound for the city of Sinop. Even farther towns like Çiftlikköy inYalova Province are still served by the airport.
