Nonthaburi: Noble City Nestled in the Greater Bangkok
Nonthaburi, Thailand is the second largest city, next to Bangkok, within a province of the same name in Thailand. It was formerly known as TalatKhwan and has a provincial slogan that roughly translates to “Grand Royal Mansion, Renowned SuanSomdet, KoKret’s Pottery, famous ancient temples, tasty durian, and the beautiful government office.” The Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is an hour ride away from Nonthaburi’s city center.
Best Time to Visit
With a tropical climate, Nonthaburi, Thailand experiences dry and wet season. It might get extremely hot and humid during the summers of March until May and heavy rain showers are expected from months of June until October. It is ideal to visit the city during the cool months of November to February when there are little to no rain. High numbers of tourists are expected during summers with the Mon Songkran Festival around but relatively less people and cheaper prices for Nonthaburi hotels during the cool months.
