Karyaneka Handicraft Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Karyaneka Handicraft Center in Kuala Lumpur contains Malaysia’s handicrafts reflecting the country’s ethnic and cultural heritage. The center not only displays these handicrafts, but these are also sold. Some of the handicrafts for sale at the center include batik, blowpipes, rattan baskets, and Sarawak woodcarvings. There are also Kelantanese silvercraft for sale at the center. Aside from these, there is also a craft museum onsite. In the museum, visitors will find dioramas portraying artisans at work. These exhibits aim to recreate the original atmosphere of the creation of such handicrafts, giving visitors a complete experience. The Karyaneka Handicraft Center is open from Monday to Sunday.
Foreigners aren’t the only visitors found and welcomed at the Karyaneka Handicraft Center. Visitors from nearby cities such as Petaling Jaya, Seri Kembangan, and Kampung Sungai Raya can visit the center and see the handicrafts with their own eyes.
