Aside from being an important passenger hub for the city, Atyrau Airport is also important to cargo. The city is the base for many oil and construction companies. Airlines that serve the airport include Aeroflot, Bek Air, Qazaq Air, and SCAT Airlines. Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana also serves it. Cargo airlines that serve the airport include Coyne Airways and the Silk Way Airlines.
