Coronado Center
Coronado Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a shopping mall with more than 130 stores. Established in 1965, it has a number of known anchor tenants. These include Dick’s Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Kohls, Macy’s, and Round One Entertainment.
There are many fun things to do in the area, such as visiting University of New Mexico (UNM) Art Museum or University Art Museum. Inaugurated in 1963, it is home to a permanent collection of about 30,000 objects. It is currently the biggest fine art collection in the state. Another interesting site to visit in the city is Isleta Amphitheater. Founded in 2000, it was originally called Mesa del Sol Amphitheater. Shortly after, Albuquerque Journal bought the naming rights and named it ABQ Journal Pavilion. It adopted its current name in 2013. Tourists should also visit Maxwell Museum of Anthropology. Established in 1932, it is the first public museum in the city. It was named in honor of Gilbert and Dorothy Maxwell. It features 5 main exhibit areas— Ancestors, People of the Southwest, Bawden Gallery, North Gallery, and Ortiz Center Gathering Space. The first 2 are permanent exhibits, while the other 3 are changing exhibits showcasing artifacts from its massive collection as well as traveling exhibits. One of the nearest hotels to the center is the 4-star Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown Hotel. It offers various dining options onsite. One of these is ABQ Grill, which serves Italian and Southwest American cuisine. Another reputable hotel in the city is Hyatt Place Albuquerque Uptown. Each room has a minibar and private bathroom.
