Located in Reagan County, this town was named after a lakebed that has already dried out. Originally, the land surrounding Big Lake was owned by the University of Texas during the early 1900s. Big Lake’s economy is mainly from the oil and gas sourced in the region, making the University of Texas one of the richest universities in the whole of America.

Summertime during July to September offers a lot of fascinating activities to enjoy in Big Lake. However, you can still enjoy a comfortable weather from March to May and September to November for cheaper hotel rooms.
