Phu Quoc International Airport – PQC Phu Quoc
The rapid growth of international visitors in Phu Quoc, Vietnam led the construction of Phu Quoc International Airport in 2008. The Airport Corporation of Vietnam commissioned an investment of 3 million VND to establish an airport that can serve the main island of Phu Quoc. The airport was completed in November 2012 and by the following month, open to serve international flight systems to Phu Quoc Island. The establishment of the airport replaced the previous Phu Quoc Airport as it now serves both domestic and international flights.
Best Time to Visit
Phu Quoc International Airport is the fifth-largest airport in Vietnam. In fact, the airport is expected to accommodate 7 million passengers each year. The runway is wide enough to handle large aircrafts such as Airbus A350 and Boeing 747. The airport also features modern terminal buildings with a departure lounge, shops, local cafes, and dining areas. Upon arrival, there are a number of transport options available for travelers, such as car rentals and taxis. For passengers that have a connecting flight to popular destinations such as Koh Rong and Koh Ouen of Cambodia can take a short break at the departure lounge.
