El Loa Airport – CJC Cajama
El Loa Airport is the biggest public-used airport in Chile that is main airfield serving the city of Calama, the capital city of El Loa Province part of the Antofagasta Region in the northern part of Chile. The airport also caters the aviation requirements of its nearby cities of Machuca, Rio Grande and San Francisco de Chiu Chiu. El Loa Airport is owned by the Direccion de Aeronautica Civil de Chile (DGAC) and is being operated by Sociedad Concessionaria El Loa S.A.

El Loa Airport has a designated 10/28 single asphalt runway that measures 3,549 meters long and with construction plans for second runway to handle bigger military aircraft and jet planes. In 2014, the airport’s newly built terminal was opened to the passengers featuring air bridges, larger apron, and 500 additional parking slots. The new terminal also features new control tower, service center for fire brigade and treatment plant for water waste. The airport air flight service is being catered by JetSmart, LATAM Chile, LATAM Peru and Sky Airline. As of 2013, it has a recorded passenger enplanement of 1,441,500.
