China National Convention Center
Formerly referred to as the Olympic Green Convention Center, the China National Convention Center is a convention center nestled in the Olympic Green in Beijing, China. The eight-story facility was constructed for the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in 2008, serving as the venue for several competitions, including fencing, wheelchair fencing, and boccia. The China National Convention Center covers a total floor area of roughly 67 acres and is designed by RMJM, one of the leading architecture and design firms across the world. The facility will be used for the 2022 Winter Olympics again and is now housing the International Broadcast Centre.
A little over a 30-minute drive from the convention center will take you to the Cheng'en Temple in Beijing. This Buddhist temple dated back to the Sui dynasty but was reconstructed numerous times from 1510 to 1513 under the Ming dynasty. It currently houses several Chinese religious arts from the Ming dynasty. From there, head straight to the Beijing Wax Museum, the first-ever large-scale wax museum in the country. Established in 1990, the museum boasts of a vast collection of wax figures, both from the world and China's major historical events.
