ANX Airport first began as Andøya Air Station in 1952, now it is the civilian sector of the station. Civilian operations started in 1964 with Scandinavian Airlines Systems or SAS as the first airline to handle flights bound for Oslo. The airport features two runways measuring 2,468 meters and 1,647 meters. As of 2012, it was able to serve a total of 48, 254 passengers. Widerøe airline operates flights bound for Bodø, Tromsø, Harstad/Narvik, and Stokmarknes. The Norweigan Air Shuttle operates flights to Oslo on a seasonal basis.
