Williams Lake, Appreciating BC’s Stampede Capital
Nicknamed as the “Mural Capital of the Cariboo Chilcotin” and “BC’s Stampede Capital,” Williams Lake is a city that doubles as the largest urban center in Cariboo. If you’re coming into the town by plane, you can easily reach Williams Lake, Canada via the Williams Lake Regional Airport and the South Cariboo Regional Airport. Best Time to Visit
The weather in Williams Lake is generally cold for a majority of the year with late June to late August as the best months to come by the city for outdoor activities. But among the three months, July is arguably the best month for travel as the city celebrates their annual Williams Lake Stampede, a world-famous rodeo event attracting both local and international cowboys. That said, the town is expectedly crowded, with most of Williams Lake, Canada hotels occupied. If you hate blending in with the crowd, come in December during the city’s slow season.

Afterward, gear up and head to the Scout Island Nature Centre, a nature preserve where you can enjoy the serenity of Williams Lake and the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
