Utica: A Small Fishing City
Originally known as Cane Ridge, the small town of Utica is well known for its hunting and fishing activities. It is composed of not more than 1,000 inhabitants making it a very small community. It is located by the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad. The town's agricultural products consist of watermelon, cotton, and timber. Visitors, most likely consists of hunters and fishers, loves to stay and pay a visit for the great area the town has for hunting and fishing activities.
Best Time to Visit
The town is best visited during spring season for fine and moderately cold weather. This season is during March through May, which also means the busiest for its fishing services. Summer, June to August, are less busy and also an ideal weather

The town of Utica is home to the URJ Henry S. Jacobs Camp, which is a Reform Jewish Movement Camp that accommodates campers and offers exciting activities that help develop skills and a close-knit community. The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience is former tourist spot for visitors that help see and indulge in exhibits that compose of Southern Jewish cultural history that allows people to appreciate cultural diversity. However, it was formerly shut down due to its remote location but is planning on opening again in the year 2020. While visiting the city, the town of the historical Vicksburg is also a great visit filled with historic sites and attractions. Near both cities are the Comfort Suites Vicksburg, Courtyard Marriott Vicksburg, and Holiday Inn Express and Suites Vicksburg.
