Udon Thani International Airport is an international airport located in the Udon Thani Province in the northeast region of Thailand particularly near the city of Udon Thani. Its distance to Bangkok is 280 miles. The public and military airport is run by the Department of Airports in which is considered to be DOA’s money-maker with the airport earning approximately 100 million baht each year. It was formerly known as Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base during the Vietnam War.

A cargo vessel, K-Mile Air, runs operation in the airport serving destinations in Hanoi and Hong Kong. Aside from passengers and cargos, the airport is an active Royal Thai Air Force base. In 2015, the airport served over two million passengers and three thousand tons of freight. The airport is near the cities of Chiang Yuen, Mak Khaeng and Na Kha.
