Sultan Babullah Airport – TTE Ternate
Otherwise known as Ternate Airport, Sultan Babullah Airport is situated in the province of North Maluku, Indonesia. The airport has an IATA code of TTE and was named after Sultan Babullah, an Indonesia Warrior during the early 1570s. Currently serving as the main gateway to the province as well as the city of Ternate, Indonesia, the airport experiences high passenger traffic and cargo. With the growth of passengers traveling to and from the airport, the local government of the province is aiming to develop and improve its infrastructures, facilities, and services.
Best Time to Visit
Established in 1971, Sultan Babullah Airport did not start its civilian operations until 1978. Since then the airport has served the residents of the province as one of its major sources of transportation that can take them to larger cities, such as Jakarta. By 2005, a new terminal building was inaugurated to make room for the increasing number of passengers that travel via Ternate Airport. By 2013, further expansion of the runway was constructed as well as the building of an additional terminal to accommodate larger aircraft like the Boeing 737. Upon arrival, passengers can ask for assistance at the in-house travel agent to learn more about notable landmarks in Ternate. There are car rentals available for convenience.

From the airport, passengers can immediately check-in at Grand Dafam Bela Ternate Hotel or at Muara Hotel and Mall Ternate. Travel time to and from the airport to the hotel is around 15-minutes only.
