Trikomo: Enjoy the Great Grape Festival
Trikomo, Cyprus is a town in the northeast part of Mesaoria. Today, it currently holds a de-facto status and under the control of Northern Cyprus. The administrative is called the Iskele District. In 1998, it has gained a municipal status. Before the Turkish invasion that happened in 1974, the village is composed of Greek Cypriots but they fled during the conflict. Some of them go to the south. The Turkish Cypriots settled in the area giving it a new name, “New Iskele”. There is a 15th-century Byzantine church called St Jacob which dominates the town center and it is also considered as a town attraction.

There are a lot of festivals happening in town every summertime. The most popular and major cultural event that attracts visitors is the Grape Festival. The icon museum is one of the main attractions in town. It was built in 1991. There is also the 12th-century church. It is called the church of Blessed Virgin Mary.
