Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport is the primary airport of Uzbekistan. Tashkent is the most populous city, which is why its airport became Central Asia’s third busiest airport. Its location is 7.5 miles from Tashkent center. The airport is owned by the Government of Uzbekistan and is run by Uzbekistan Airways. In 2030, the Government of Uzbekistan plans to move the airport to a new and bigger site. Based on 2017 statistics, the airport handled 3 million passengers.

It has a runway built with concrete and asphalt. The airport serves destinations going to and from Moscow, Seoul-Incheon, Beijing-Capital, Bishkek, Kabul, Istanbul, Jeddah and some others.
