Talisay: Satiate Your Hunger in this Urbanized City
If the Luzon island of the Philippines has a Talisay City, then so does its Visayas island. It is located in the province of Cebu and is nearby the coast of the Cebu Strait. Talisay, Cebu earned its name from the abundant Magtalisay trees that were growing in the city. The city was once an area used by foreign military forces before it became a primary residential and industrial community.
Best Time to Visit
Talisay, Philippines, like the rest of the country, has a prevalent tropical monsoon climate. This means that it is mostly raining half of the time every year. It is ideal to visit the city when the sun is shining bright during the months of March and April. However, these are also the months when there is a high in flux in the number of visitors and Talisay hotels are costly. October is also a good month to visit as the locals celebrate the Halad-Inasal Festival.
What to Do & Area Attractions
One of the greatest thing in Talisay is its delectable cuisine especially that of pork. The famous Cebu Lechon, a roasted suckling pig, is the city’s specialty. But in terms of attractions, you should head on to Santa Teresa de Avila Church, which is more than a century old! If you are looking for something to cool you down under the summer heat, the Larawan Beach is just a few minute drive from the city proper. Bring the kids to the Crocolandia. Talisay hotels are easily accessible as they are very near the city center. These include Manora Apartment and Guest House, the Tubod Flowing Waters Resort, and Win Hotel and Casino.
