Siren: A City of Lilacs
Originally the home of French fur traders, Siren, WI had for its first postmaster a man by the name of Charles F. Segerstorm. His house was surrounded by lilacs and to this day, the city displays an abundant sea of this fragrant flower in practically every corner of the township. In fact, the city’s name is a derivation of the Swedish word “Syren” which translates to lilac.

Surrounded by buildings that beautifully reflect the city’s history, Siren, Wisconsin is a good place to go if you want some peace and quiet to yourself. While the city celebrates one or two festivals during the year, there’s no question that it’s a relatively quiet town with fun and welcoming people. The busiest month for Siren, WI hotels are usually during April and June. There’s also the month of May which slowly grows in popularity thanks to the Siren Nationals Springs celebrated during this month. Other festivals you can go to include the Frederic Arts and Crafts Festival on the Gandy every August.
