Samarinda: The Gateway to East Kalimantan and Home of Amplang
Known to be the most populous city within the whole island of Borneo, Samarinda is East Kalimantan province’s capital city in Indonesia. Its name came from the settlement to which Bugis (an ethnic group in the country) houses are made in equal heights to symbolize equality among its residents.
