Sainte-Rose: A Coastal Paradise Tucked Away near the Caribbean Sea
Found on the coast of the Basse-Terre Island, Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe is the second-biggest commune in the French archipelago. Its economy primarily relies on sugar production, having seven sugar refineries within its vicinity. The village may be tiny for some, but it boasts of its thriving fishing port and unspoiled beauty. From Sainte-Rose, you could also reach the nature reserve of Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin, which is only a short boat ride away.
Best Time to Visit
August is considered a busy month in Sainte-Rose as the patronal festival is held during this time of year. Although there may be several Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe hotels already available by the beginning of the month, these may still be considered expensive compared to the rates during the slow season in the winter. Tourists are less likely to visit the town from December to February as temperatures can reach 83.9°F on average.
