Phnom Penh International Airport is the biggest and busiest airport in Cambodia and is located within 10 km. of the country’s capital, Phnom Penh. PNH was previously named Pochentong International Airport.
Best Time to Visit
In 1995, the Cambodian government signed an agreement with a French-Malaysian company to renovate the airport for $100 million. This project focused on the expansion of its terminals as well as other commercial establishments to generate more passengers. The passenger terminal already received a facelift, as the second phase was unveiled in 2018 including the expansion of the concourse with two new boarding gates.
However, the same year, the government announced that they would build a new airport to replace Phnom Penh International Airport. The new airport will be located in Kandal province, which can be reached 30 km. from Phnom Penh. Some of the nearby cities surrounding PNH airport include Phnom Penh, Phnom Sruoch, and Ta Khmao to name a few.
