Glasgow Prestwick Airport is an international airport located in Prestwick, Scotland. It is an international airport serving the western side of Scotland. It is 32 miles from the city center and is less busy compared to Glasgow Airport, located in Paisley. Glasgow Prestwick Airport has the largest land area of all the airports in Scotland. In 2007, it served an estimated 2.4 million passengers. The airport is owned by the Scottish Government and is operated by Prestwick Aviation Holdings Ltd.

The airport sits at an elevation of 65 feet. It started operations in 1938 and the passenger facilities were added. Regular transatlantic flights between New York and Prestwick started. An extension of the runway was built in 1964. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is famed for being the only place in the United Kingdom that Elvis Presley was known to have set foot. In 2014, the airport signed a deal with Donald Trump, making Glasgow Prestwick Airport the hub for Trump Aviation Operations in Scotland to service the Trump Turnberry golf resort. The Scottish Government put up the airport for sale in 2019.
