Príncipe Airport- PCP
Príncipe Airport is a public airport found two miles from the town of Santo António on Príncipe Island, São Tomé and Príncipe. The airfield is the only one of its kind of the island and one of three airfields in the island country of São Tomé and Príncipe, the two other being Port Alegre Airport on the island of Port Alegre and São Tomé International Airport on the island of São Tomé. Príncipe Airport is known internationally by the ICAO location identifier of FPPR and IATA location identifier of PCP.
Best Time to Visit
The airfield was constructed in 1968 when the island country was still a Portuguese colony. It was then renovated in 2012, which aimed to modernize Príncipe Airport and lengthen the runway to accommodate mid-size jets. The renovation was finished in October 2015, and the airstrip, which was then 1,320 meters in length, became 1,750 meters. The only airline serving the airfield is STP Airways, the country’s national airlines. It connects the airport to São Tomé International Airport on the island of São Tomé. There are also available charter and private flights in Príncipe Airport. While on Príncipe Island, include Santo António and Bom Bom Island in your itinerary.
