Orleans Bricy Air Base - ORE-Bricy Air Base
Orleans Bricy Air Base is a French Air Force owned and operated by the Government of France. Located in Orleans, France, it is located 6 miles from Orleans and 65 miles from Paris. The airport is mainly used as a tactical airlift. It was built before the start of World War II and was used as a French Air Force facility. it was taken by the Germans in 1940 and was liberated in 1944 after the Northern France Campaign.
Best Time to Visit
There are two runways available at the ORE Airport. One runway is covered in Turf, 4,000 feet in length and the other one is covered in asphalt 7,874 feet at the 07/25 direction. After the World War, it was completely rebuilt to accommodate 27 Transall C-16F, c11 Airbus A400M, 8 Lockheed C-130H-30 and 5 Lockheed C-130H Hercules. The airport will be the home of a new Airbus A400M new tactical cargo aircraft from Europe that will be used by the French Air Force. Lamotte-Beuvron is one of the fun destinations to see in the region. There are plenty of outdoor activities to explore and experience in the area.
