Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport
Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport is a public airport in Yaounde, Cameroon that serves the nearby towns and municipalities close to Yaounde and Nsimalen. It is sitting 694 meters above mean sea level and is the largest public airport in Cameroon, located in Central Africa. Popularly known as Nsimalen Airport, NSI is also the second busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic in the region. NSI Airport was built to supersede the old airport in the region. Cameroon Airlines is the current popular and busiest airline serving in the airport.
Best Time to Visit
NSI Airport currently covers a total area of 1240 hectares and features a single passenger terminal, six aircraft stands and one cargo terminal. There is a single runway operating in the airport, 3,400 meters long and 45 meters wide. The airport can currently accommodate aircrafts as big as the B747. There are four gates and six parking facilities inside the airport. Yaounder, the capital city of Cameroon is a great place to visit to take in the history, culture and the grand architecture featured in the region.
