Nazca, Peru has one of the world’s naturally dry and humid climates. To counter this, the best time to visit the region is during its winter, from late May to September, when the weather is not as hot, and more winds are cooling the area. September and October are also good months to visit to avoid peak tourist season. Early May sees large crowds of tourists coming in for the annual Nazca Tourist Weeks.

The Nazca Lines area a centuries-old site that features a series of geoglyphs that collectively span 808 miles of land. To date, experts are still unsure why the ancient Nazca may have created them, and they continue to perplex and excite scholars and mystery enthusiasts alike. Nazca is also known for its similarly ancient underground series of aqueducts, called the Cantayoc Aqueducts, which supported the Incas with water and irrigation.
