Nant: A Favorite Little Village
Nant, France is a small village located in the Aveyron department in the Midi-Pyrénées region of southern France. Mainly an agricultural town, many families in Nant are into the production of sausages and cured meat products. The village has been attracting a growing number of tourists due to its proximity to the city of Montpellier, which is about 1 hour by car.
Best Time to Visit
Mid-May to mid-October is the ideal time to head to Nant to enjoy its good weather with July to August as the busiest period for tourist arrivals. Visitors would usually make Nant their stopover on their way to Montpellier, but many also stay in town for a few days to soak in its idyllic and serene atmosphere, but this does not crowd Nant FR hotels so booking a room or two is never a problem.
What to Do & Area Attractions
A stop at the Office de Tourisme Larzac et Vallees located at the town hall is a must before you explore Nant and its neighboring areas. The tourism office will gladly assist you regarding your queries about where to go and what to do, not just in Aveyron but also in nearby departments. Along the beachfront in Saint-Cyprien is Les Capitelles, an excellent choice of accommodation in the area. Other great options are Le Barry du Grand Chemin, which is beautifully housed in a 17th-century stone building not too far from the A75 autoroute and the no-frills yet homely Cévenol Hotel found within the Parc Naturel régional des Grands Causses.
