Amborovy Airport – MJN Mahajanga, Madagascar
Officially known as Philibert Tsiranana Airport, the Amborovy Airport is a government-run medium-sized airport in Mahajanga, Madagascar. Named after the first President of the island country, the airport is located 7.7 km northeast of the city center. Its IATA geocode MJN is an abbreviation of the city’s French name, Majunga. The airport has obtained its international certification in 2016. In 2018, the airport handled almost 40,000 passengers.

Amborovy Airport (MJN) is keen on improving air connectivity between the regions of Madagascar and internationally by upgrading its technical and commercial operations. It operates daily domestic flights to/from the capital Antananarivo as well as connection flights to Antsiranana weekly. Every week, at least 10 domestic flights and 14 international flights depart from the airport bound for the nearby Comoros, Mayotte and LaRéunion. Airline companies that fly the Mahajanga route are Tsaradia, Madagascar Airways, Ewa and SkyService. The airport has a single story passenger terminal building and one asphalt runway. It provides for the aviation needs of the port city of Mahajanga, a popular tourist destination as well as its neighboring communities.
