Meersburg: A Medieval City on Southern Germany
Sitting on the southwest edge of the country, Meersburg, Germany is a town that belongs to the state of Baden-Württemberg. The medieval city lies on the banks of Lake Constance and is home to two century-old castles. These attractions make the town a favorite destination in the area, eventually attracting plenty of hotels and lodging to Meersburg.
Best Time to Visit
To celebrate the end of summer, Meersburg hosts the annual Lake Constance Wine Festival in early September. This event runs for three days and features nothing but the best wines produced in the areas surrounding Lake Constance. The rainy season is already setting in by this time of year, giving the town around six days of rain showers every month. This makes tourism the slowest, which, in turn, makes most of Meersburg, Germany hotels give away discounts to patrons. The busy season is actually in spring, particularly in May.
