Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre
The Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC) is a large convention center located in the district of Randwyck, Maastricht. MECC is notable for hosting one of the largest art fairs called the European Fine Art Fair. Apart from having the privilege of large convention events, Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre was also a shortlisted candidate to host another large event called the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, however, MECC came out unsuccessful because it loses to Rotterdam Ahoy instead. The center has an amazing interior, with temporary exhibitions.
One of the nearby hotels is the Van der Valk Hotel Masstricht, which offers spacious rooms with a work desk and comfortable seating area. The hotel also has an onsite restaurant called Le Faucaon, which features Netherland's unique cuisines and delicacies. Another hotel is the NH Maastricht, a hotel that gives the guests free access to the luxurious swimming pool, spa and wellness center, saunas, and a fitness center. Noticeably, Netherlands is filled with majestic castles, such as the Hoensbroek Castle, located in nearby Hoensbroek, one of the recorded largest castles in the entire country. This gorgeous, picturesque castle was built in the 13th century and serves as a stronghold between Meuse and Rhine. After being severely damaged during the French revolution in the 17th century, the castle received a lot of extensive and expansion works. The other castle is the Ehrenstein Castle, a castle from the Renaissance period, is now filled exhibitions and detailed history of the Roman Empire. The castle boasts its beautiful garden where tourists can have a breath of fresh air.
