Located at the northwest corner of the Windham County, Londonderry is a town chartered in 1770 by Colonel James Rogers and was originally known as Kent. Named after the town of Londonderry located in New Hampshire, the regions’ name originally came from a town in Ireland bearing the same name. Londonderry, VT is known for its snow slopes and stunning natural beauties. Among the historical events in the region includes the heavy devastation experienced during the floods of 1927, 1938 and 1973. In February 1975, two FB-111 planes crashed in a village located on the southern portion of Londonderry during the crafts’ training mission.
