Ksamil: Your Perfect Beach Getaway in the South of Albania
Ksamil, Albania is a small village, which is located inside the Butrint National Park. It was a former municipality in the Albanian Riviera but was declared a subdivision of Sarande, following the local government reform in 2015. Ksamil was a top producer of lemons, olive oil, and tangerine before 2010. Now, because the village is close to the beach, it has become one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country, both for local and foreign visitors. That said, dozens of hotels and accommodations dot the area, especially by the beach.
Best Time to Visit
While there are no major festivities happening in Ksamil, you can drive to the nearby town of Dhërmi, about two hours away, for the Kala Festival. This event runs for a full week and showcases the country as a beach party destination. It is held in June when the summer season begins in the country. This is marked as the busiest months for Albania, so prepare to blend in with the crowd and spend a couple more hundred bills for your Ksamil, Albania hotels.
