The Kowloon Mosque and Islamic Centre is located in Hong Kong, Hong Kong. It is noted as being one of the five main mosques in the city. Found in Kowloon, in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, it is right beside Kowloon Park. As the largest mosque in Hong Kong, Kowloon Mosque and Islamic Centre can hold up to 3,500 people. They hold five prayers a day. The original building was completed in 1896. The current building is a result of expansion and renovation; it opened in 1984. The renovations became necessary when structural damage was sustained during the construction of the underground Mass Transit Railway. The mosque serves the local community, which is mostly made up of Muslims from Indonesia and South East Asia.
