Kōfu: The Mountainous Tottori Destination
The town of Kōfu is located in the northeast part of the Hino District in the Tottori Prefecture. Not to be mistaken with the city of Kofu in the Yamanashi Prefecture, Kofu town sits in the Chūkogu Mountains, at the foot of Mount Daisen.
Best Time to Visit
Weather-wise, the best months to travel to Kōfu in the Tottori Prefecture are April to June when temperatures are moderate. Months of February, March and July are the busiest months, so if you are making a trip during these times, make sure to book your Kōfu accommodations in advance. October is the slowest month for tourism in Kōfu, Tottori. You will find this month pleasurable for a vacation if you do not like the crowds so much. One notable festival in Kōfu is Juushichiya, which is celebrated by the locals from sun up to sundown.

Reconnect with nature as you set aside some time to visit the Sagarikaya Dam, a rock fill dam used as an industrial dam for irrigation.
