Kirkenes Airport, Hoeybuktmoen is situated nine miles west of the town of Kirkenes in Hoeybuktmoen, Norway in the municipality of Sor-Varanger in the Finnmark County. It is an international airport run by Avinor, a state-owned organization. The airport was built as a military air station during the World War II by the Luftwaffe. It was only after the war that the air station was opened for civilian services.
