Haluoleo Airport is a public use airport owned by the government of Indonesia and operated by the Ministry of Transportation. Formerly named WolterMonginsidi Airport after Indonesian national hero Robert WolterMonginsidi, the airport has been renamed to honor Halu Oleo, the sixth sultan of the Indonesian island Buton. Located in Kendari, Indonesia, Haluoleo Airport handles flights to and from 11 destinations thru 10 airlines that include Citilink and Garuda Indonesia, the country’s flagship carrier. KDI averages 25 flights per day, and was reported to have handled 792.383 passengers and 10.194 aircraft movements in 2018.
