Presidente Castro Pinto International Airport – JPA Joao
Presidente Castro Pinto International Airport is a public airport operated by AENA situated in Joao Pessoa, Brazil seven miles from downtown and is next to the municipality of Bayeux. Its name is taken from the lawyer, writer and former Governor of the State of Paraiba, Joao Pereira de Castro Pinto. The airport was inaugurated on August 20, 1957. Later, Infraero administered the operations in the airport from 1979 to 2019. Just recently, AENA took over the operations signing a 30-year concession in the airport.

Presidente Castro Pinto International Airport has a single asphalt runway measuring 8,251 feet wide. Based on 2018 statistics, the airport had 1,414,896 passengers, 14,363 aircraft operations and 4,378 metric tons of cargo; all increasing from 2017. The airport is a hub for Azul Brazilian Airlines, Gol Transportes Aereos and LATAM Brasil and serves routes to and from Belo Horizonte – Confins, Recife, Brasilia Rio de Janeiro – Galeao, Salvador da Bahia, Sao Paulo – Congonhas, and Sao Paulo – Guarulhos. The airport is near the cities of Olinda, Recife and Gamela.
