Formerly spelled as “Jullundur” during the British rule, the city of Jalandhar, India is situated in the state of Punjab. Many debacles over where Jalandhar derived its name from still exist to this day. Some says it is from the demon king Jalandhara while others argue that it came from an ancient kingdom and translates into “area inside water.” The city is about a half hour away from the Sahnewal Airport in the nearby Ludhiana.
