An international public-use airport that serves the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh is Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport. It is owned and operated by the Airport Authority of India. The airport is the busiest in Central India and is the 18th busiest airport in the whole of India during the year 2018-2019 based on passenger traffic. It was titled after Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar of the dynasty of Holkar of the Maratha Empire. Eight airlines are currently operating flights at the airport as of today. From April 2018 to March 2019, 3,158,938 passengers were served by the airport.
