Hutchinson: A City That Musically Transcended in American History
The City was named after the Hutchinson family that flourished not only in Hutchinson, Minnesota but in other nearby regions because of their famous singing. This family is also credited for founding Hutchinson town in 1855. Judson, John and Asa were the original members of the Hutchinson family. They were also known for their advocacy and promoting awareness for several causes such as women’s right to vote, antislavery as well as the Lincoln presidential campaign. Hutchinson, MN is the largest city in the whole of McLeod County and sits beautifully at the southern region of the Crow River. It was incorporated in 1904 but had its first post office several decades earlier in 1856.
