William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas is one of the major international airports in the state. It is considered to be the oldest among all the commercial airports in Houston. Opened in 1969, the airport closed shortly after the opening of the Houston Intercontinental. After a few years, HOU-William P. Hobby reopened and became a secondary airport for domestic flights in the region. It has been a center for private and corporate airline services since its reopening. William P. Hobby Airport is the fifth largest airports located in Houston.
Best Time to Visit
Covering a total area of 528 hectares, it still features its original art deco in its terminal building. Several retail shops, fast food, eaters and stores are available at the Central Concourse area of the airport. This is the only concourse in the terminal replacing the 3 older concourses date back in 1998. Its international terminal opened in October 2015, and featured five gates used solely by Southwest Airlines. Cypress, Galena Park and Friendswood are the towns you can explore near the airport.
