Hameenlinna: Historical Adventure in Finland’s Oldest Inland City
Hameenlinna, Finland, is one of the cities located in Hame, one of the historical provinces in the southern portion of the country. The region is considered to be one of the oldest inland cities in the region. It also played one of the most significant roles in the region up until the 19th century. The region is the birthplace of the famous composer Jean Sibelius. The Hame Castle, a medieval castle that sits by a lake, is also located in this area. It is one of the first national urban parks in the region.
