Grossarl: A Holiday with the Snowmen
The ski town of Grossarl, Austria, is located in the Salzburg state, nestled in the valley of Grossarltal. It is commonly known to be the “Valley of the Alms,” which refers to the pastured mountains of the country. The town remains to be unspoiled and thus, you can enjoy the authentic Austrian countryside life once you visit. Many lifts to ski areas towards the other side of the mountain are connected in town.
Best Time to Visit
Grossarl is popularized as a ski resort town so that you can expect a lot of tourists coming to town during the winter season. Grossarl hotels may also have higher prices. However, visiting the town during the other seasons is not a bad idea as well. You can enjoy the green pastures and the blooming flowers when you arrive during summer. But do expect moderate to heavy rain showers occasionally. Every end of September to the beginning of October, the Harvest Festival in Grossarl takes place.
