One of the must-see attractions in the area is Hwange National Park, the biggest natural reserve in the country. Established in 1928, it is home to about 400 species of birds and about a hundred species of mammals. Bird species in the park include racket-tailed roller, southern ground hornbill, and yellow-billed kite. It has 4 small permanent camps and 3 huge rest camps. It was declared a National Monument in the early 1900s. The origins of the main structures can be traced back to the 18th and 19th centuries. You can also tour the Railway Recreation Center.
