Canefield Airport – DCF
Operated by the Dominica Air & Sea Ports Authority, Canefield Airport is a government-owned public-use airfield found on the western coast of Roseau, Dominica. It is one of the only two airfields located in the island country. Canefield Airport goes by the IATA code of DCF.
Best Time to Visit
DCF-Canefield Airport was constructed back in 1979, following the nation’s independence. It only has a single asphalt-paved runway, numbered as 01/19 and spans to a length of over 950 meters. The airstrip can accommodate piston and turboprop aircraft, like the Aero Commander 500, Freighters, and Cessna. Six airlines serve Canefield Airport as of the moment, with four of them offering regularly scheduled flights to various points in the Caribbean, France, and the US. There are also available charter and cargo flights to and from the airfield. If you’re visiting Dominica via Canefield Airport, you should also consider exploring the nearby towns of Roseau, Giraudel, and Trafalgar.
