Benjamín Rivera Noriega Airport is a public airport owned and operated by the Puerto Rico Ports Authority. It serves the areas of Culebra, Puerto Rico as well as the areas of the Isla de Culebra in Puerto Rico. CPX sits 15 meters above mean sea level. Although it is categorized as a general aviation airport, no scheduled passenger services are served in the airport. It was originally built as a military airport for the U.S. Marine Corps during its opening in 1957. It became a public airport in 1980 and was transferred to the Ports Authority.
Best Time to Visit
CPX-Benjamin Rivera Noriega Airport inaugurated its first passenger terminal in 1994. It was named after a pilot from Ciales whose service to the community was recognized by the citizens of Culebra. The airport is around 15 acres in area. It has a single asphalt runway 792 meters long with a majestic mountain located near the north end of the runway. Propeller aircraft are used to serve charter flights and private flights in the airport, with 10 seats available or less. Las Croabas is a nearby scenic destination where views of rainforest, beaches and mountains can be enjoyed.

The Antonio Rivera Rodriguez Airport (VQS) is the nearest airport close to CPX. It is one of the most important airports in the region.
