the Jeju International Airport is the second largest airport in South Korea. It serves the city of Jeju, South Korea and its surrounding cities including Seogwipo, Mokpo, Naju, Yeosu, and more. The public airport is located in Jeju City in Jeju Province. Operated by the Korea Airports Corporation, it serves as the hub for Jeju Air. It is the focus city for airlines Air Busan, Asiana Airlines, Eastar Jet, Jin Air, and T’way Air. It is also served by Korea’s flag carrier, Korean Air. In 2017, it handled 29.6 million passengers and 158,691 aircraft movements. Because of the large number of passengers that move through the airport, a second airport is planned for the city of Seogwipo and is expected to open in 2025.
