Formerly part of Albany County, Cambridge is now a town in Washington County in New York. It is within the Glens Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area, which was transferred from Albany County to Washington County during 1791 when the United States of America has received its independence post American Revolutionary War. It has a total area of 36.5 square miles of which 36.4 square miles is land, and 0.1 square miles is water.

The Annual Cambridge Balloon Festival is one of the most awaited events in June and is always preparing fun surprises that are family-oriented, which is organized by the Cambridge Balloon Committee and the Cambridge Valley Chamber of Commerce. From the month of October to May, it is said to plan vacations during this time of year as it has an average climate when most of the outdoor activities tourists can engage in to are very favourable. December is considered to be its busiest month, but come October, travellers are unlikely to visit Cambridge, New York.
