Calatayud: A Colorful City in Western Spain
The municipality of Calatayud, Spain is known for its title “The very noble, loyal, always august and most faithful city of Calatayud.” It serves as the second-biggest town in the Zaragoza province and the biggest one in the autonomous community of Aragon. Although the population is declining over the past decade, there are still thousands of tourists coming into Calatayud, therefore attracting several hotels and accommodations to the region.
Best Time to Visit
Thanks to Calatayud’s location, it is best visited between mid-April to mid-June, during which various fiestas are hosted in the city, and the warm weather is just right for tours. Some of these are the Easter celebration in either March or April, the Pilgrimage (romeria) for el Cristo de Ribota in May and the Saint Íñigo's Day in June.
